nice size for yacht charter

As developers of charter income programs we often are asked, “what is the best yacht to buy to earn charter income.” First, let’s clarify one thing. We really do not recommend that you buy a luxury motor yacht with the sole intention of earning charter income. Rather, our programs are designed to help you to offset a good portion of the costs of yacht ownership.

Now, that having been said, you really can fit any size or type of motor yacht into our charter programs. However, over the years, we have seen some sizes and models that do tend to do better than others as charters.

Yachts in the “mid-range” — those between 60 and 140 feet — tend to be the most popular fit for charters, particularly in the South Florida region. Yachts in this size range are ideal for cruising in and around the rivers and intercostal waterways, from the Keys on up to West Palm Beach. Yachts in this mid-range are also easier to find dockage for, which is always at a premium in this area, and they can easily make short-term charters to some of the most desirable locations in the Caribbean from Florida.

For example, among the boats in our charter fleet, we currently have a 120ft ISA Yacht, an 85ft Azimut, an 80ft Lazzara, a 65ft Princess, and a 64ft Azimut, all doing very well as charter income yachts. These mid-range yachts pack all the amenities of their superyacht cousins into a smaller, leaner, and more affordable package!

The 2016 Dyna 60 – A Good Choice for a Charter Yacht

If you are considering the purchase of a mid-range motor yacht, and you want to check out one that seems to have been designed for day and short term charters out of the Ft. Lauderdale area, you really should take a serious look at the new Dyna 60.

With a newly designed hull for 2016, the latest Dyna 60 Hardtop is powered by MAN 800 HP engines and features beautiful teak and glass European-styled interiors with 360 degree window views that let in plenty of natural light. Able to achieve speeds up to 24 knots and equipped with the latest electronics and three cabins, she is ideal for day or short-term charters.
